Our History

Since 1954, KAP Electrical Components has been a national reference in industrial automation. A trajectory marked by innovation, quality, and commitment to the country’s technological development.

1954 – 1960

Foundation and Pioneering

KAP was founded in 1984 in Mauá/SP, initially operating in a small facility. It quickly stood out as a pioneer in the production of industrial microswitches in Brazil, establishing its foundation in innovation.

1960 – 1973

Expansion and MC Series

During this period, the company moved to Rua Madre de Deus, expanding production and launching the MC Series, the first line of microswitches with a sealed system. This marked KAP as a synonym of precision and reliability.

1973 – Hoje

Modernization and Innovation

In 2015, KAP relocated to Avenida das Nações Unidas, implementing a process modernization and portfolio expansion. Today, it offers a complete range of electrical components for industrial automation, consolidating itself as a genuinely Brazilian company.

KAP and the RoHS Directive

This refers to European Directive 2011/65/EU on the restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS) in electrical and electronic equipment, such as household appliances, computers, industrial equipment, lighting, and others. In line with this directive and market requirements, KAP acknowledges the importance of RoHS compliance in its products. The substances restricted include: lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), and polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE). To comply with RoHS, KAP uses materials free from these substances in its products. For example, we offer cadmium-free models and use alternative materials such as nickel (Ni) or tin (Sn).
